Whilst in Belfast there are plenty of things to do and see. Belfast Castle is one of many popular destinations. The castle was constructed in the 1870s and is situated on the slopes of Cave Hill providing magnificent views of Belfast City and Belfast Lough.
In 1888 Belfast was given the status of City and soon after Belfast City Hall was built in recognition of this. The City Hall, located in Donegall Square, is home to several local government departments but is also a beautiful Edwardian building adorned with fine Italian marble works. Public tours are given around the City Hall.
Opening hours for Belfast City Hall and public tours are: June - Sept: Mon - Fri: 1100, 1400, 1500, Sat: 1430. Oct - May: Mon - Fri: 1100, 1430, Sat: 1430. Each tours lasts approximately 45 minutes and admission is free. Large groups are advised to book in advance. No tours will be available on Bank/Public holidays.
